The Meaford Knights Hockey Club and CMHA Grey Bruce team up for Mental Health Baseball Night at the Rink on January 29th 2026
Jan 9, 2026
Meaford, ON – The Knights of Meaford Junior “A” Hockey Club and the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce (CMHA Grey Bruce) have teamed up for Mental Health Baseball Night at the Rink on Thursday, January 29, 2026, when the Knights take on the Bradford Bulls.
The idea for the night was sparked by the excitement of last season’s incredible run by the Toronto Blue Jays. With baseball fever taking over across the country, many fans dusted off their caps and jerseys and now know exactly where they are tucked away. This event brings that energy and excitement into the rink, blending the thrill of baseball with the fast pace of junior hockey.
Fans are encouraged to wear their baseball gear and enjoy a night where hockey meets classic ballpark vibes. Expect a 50/50 draw, plenty of fun throughout the game and after the final buzzer, fans will have the chance to take part in a one night only auction, featuring custom baseball inspired Knights jerseys.
This family friendly event is made possible thanks to generous local sponsors. Royal LePage Locations North Brokerage is stepping up as the Grand Slam Sponsor, with Free Spirit Forest School and West River Design and Build joining as Base Hit Sponsors.
The event takes place on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with puck drop at 7:30 p.m. at the Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre (151 Collingwood Street West, Meaford). Entry door fees are as follows:
- Adults: $10
- Kids (under 12): $8
- Kids (under 5): Free
- Police & Firefighters: Free with ID
Proceeds from the night stay local and help CMHA Grey Bruce provide timely, life changing mental health supports across our communities, including:
- Talk Today, a youth focused initiative that uses sport to spark conversations and reduce stigma around mental health
- Adult and workplace education programs that build healthier, more supportive schools, teams, and workplaces
- Let’sTalk, a program that helps teens develop confidence, coping skills, and connections
- Evidence based training programs such as Mental Health First Aid, SafeTALK, and ASIST that equip people to recognize warning signs and respond when someone needs help
Whether you love hockey, baseball, or simply want to support mental health close to home, everyone is welcome to come out in their baseball gear and cheer on the Knights for a great cause.
