Reindeer Romp Brings Community Together and Raises $2,932 for Local Mental Health Support
Jan 5, 2026
The 21st Annual Reindeer Romp once again proved why it is such a cherished Christmas Eve tradition in Saugeen Shores. On the morning of December 24 2025, community members of all ages gathered at Fitness Corner in Southampton, dressed in festive colours and reindeer gear, to walk, jog, and run together in support of mental health.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of participants, donors, organizers, and volunteers, this year’s Reindeer Romp raised $2,932 in support of Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce. These funds will stay local, supporting mental health initiatives in shoreline communities through programs such as Social Recreation, peer support, youth and adult mental health education, and community outreach that helps people feel connected, supported, and well.
The Reindeer Romp has always been about more than distance or speed. With 2.5 km and 5 km routes available, the event welcomed walkers, runners, families with strollers, and leashed pets, all moving at their own pace. As a participation event rather than a race, the focus remained on togetherness, fun, and showing care for one another during the holiday season.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who made this year’s event such a success. To every participant who showed up on a winter morning, to each donor who gave generously, and to the volunteers who helped behind the scenes, your support truly matters. Special thanks as well to Fitness Corner Southampton for once again hosting and supporting this long standing community event.
The continued success of the Reindeer Romp is a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Your involvement helps ensure that mental health support remains available close to home, when people need it most.
Thank you for being part of this meaningful holiday tradition and for helping make a positive difference in our community.
Mark your calendar for December 24, 2026 and plan to be part of the 22nd Annual Reindeer Romp.
