Queen of Hearts Nursery School Chooses CMHA Grey Bruce as Charity Partner, Donates $4,300

On Saturday, June 15th, at the graduation ceremony held at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park in Owen Sound, Queen of Hearts Nursery School proudly presented a cheque for $4,300 to CMHA Grey Bruce. This generous donation marks the first year of their two-year commitment to supporting CMHA Grey Bruce as their chosen charity. The funds were raised through a variety of activities, including raffles, games at school events, Mini Pots of Care, and a Silent Auction.

The Mini Pots of Care initiative was a particularly heartwarming effort where children planted herbs, painted pots, and took them home to care for the plants. This activity not only taught them about nurturing and growth but also instilled values of empathy and support, aligning with the mission of CMHA Grey Bruce in caring for the community’s mental health needs.

Don Vail, Communications and Funding Manager at CMHA Grey Bruce, had the honour of accepting the cheque and saying a few words at the presentation. As a parent whose children attended Queen of Hearts Nursery School, Don knows firsthand the incredible impact the school has on the community.

“I am deeply honoured to accept this generous donation from Queen of Hearts Nursery School,” said Don Vail. “Having both of my children attend this wonderful school, I can personally attest to how well they support our community and teach the children the importance of giving back. This donation will go a long way in supporting our awareness programs and other vital services at CMHA Grey Bruce.”
