Addiction Supportive Housing (ASH)

Addiction Supportive Housing (ASH) is affordable transitional housing up to 364 days that provides opportunities for individuals with a longstanding involvement with drugs and/or alcohol to stabilize and establish connections with the community. The program uses a holistic, strengths-based approach to support individuals towards living a full, independent, and satisfying life. Individuals in this program are supported by Outreach Support Workers.
Individuals must be engaged with their worker towards identifying and achieving goals aimed at promoting recovery. This is a time limited service that is focused on supporting individuals to live as independently as possible.
Goals & Objectives:
- Support clients with alcohol or substance use involvement who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or are inadequately housed with a safe living environment to work towards recovery goals.
Is This Program for Me?
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You want to reduce or eliminate harms associated with substance use
- You have a willingness and a commitment to work on your personal recovery goals
What We Offer:
We work alongside you, enabling you to exercise your rights and to enjoy a meaningful life in your community while striving to achieve your full potential. This may include:
- Assessment and planning
- Support with achieving recovery directed goals
- Direct service provision/intervention
- Monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up
- Information, liaison, advocacy, consultation, and collaboration
- Planning for crises and helping individuals to develop coping mechanisms
How Do I Get Connected?
Referrals can be made by calling our Central Intake Team at 519-371-3642 ext. 3212. This team is available 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Is There a Cost for This Program?
There is a cost for apartment rental. Clients must have a source of income through employment or social services support (Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program) and be eligible for rent support.
Is There a Waitlist for This Program?
Yes. There are a limited number of apartment units available, and the wait times will be dependent on the current occupancy status of each unit and the number of other qualified applicants on the list.
