Owen Sound Attack’s 10th Season of Talk Today Game Raises Over $4000 for Mental Health Awareness Programs

Owen Sound, ON – On February 7th, 2024, the Owen Sound Attack hosted the Sarnia Sting at the Bayshore Community Centre in a highly anticipated game marking the 10th season of the Talk Today mental health awareness initiative. Presented by Syngenta and Grain Farmers of Ontario in partnership with CMHA Grey Bruce, the game was a tremendous success both on and off the ice.

The Owen Sound Attack claimed a decisive victory over the Sarnia Sting with a final score of 6-2, thrilling fans and supporters alike. Additionally, the evening saw another triumph as the community rallied behind mental health initiatives with generous support.

Through a bucket pass and a draw for a team-signed jersey, over $4000 was raised to support CMHA Grey Bruce’s Youth Awareness programs. This remarkable contribution underscores the commitment of the Grey Bruce community to promoting mental health awareness and supporting those in need.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Owen Sound Attack organization for hosting yet another impactful Talk Today game,” said Sean McMurray, Board Chair at CMHA Grey Bruce. “Their dedication to mental health advocacy and their ongoing partnership with CMHA Grey Bruce is invaluable.”

The success of the Talk Today game was also made possible by the outstanding efforts of the Owen Sound Attack’s announcers, who helped raise awareness during the game, as well as the supporting staff and players who bravely shared their stories about mental health.

Special recognition goes to the CMHA Grey Bruce Youth Awareness team, who ran an informative booth during the game, providing valuable resources and support to attendees.

Looking ahead, CMHA Grey Bruce is eager to continue its collaboration with the Owen Sound Attack.
