McFadden’s Movement Marks 10 Years with $20,500 Donation to CMHA Grey Bruce
Aug 25, 2026
CMHA Grey Bruce is grateful to receive a $20,500 donation from McFadden’s Movement as the organization celebrates 10 years of raising funds and awareness in support of mental health.
This year’s contribution is part of a record $41,000 donation from McFadden’s Movement to CMHA Grey Bruce and CMHA Waterloo Wellington. It follows a milestone year that included the 10th Anniversary Gala and sixth annual Celebrity Charity Classic, both presented by Skyjack.
Over the past decade, McFadden’s Movement has raised more than $235,000 in support of mental health resources.
Founded in 2016 by Garrett McFadden, the Movement grew from Garrett sharing his own story and wanting to help change the conversation surrounding mental health. A native of Kincardine and former captain of the Guelph Storm, Garrett has continued to use his platform to raise awareness, reduce stigma and support mental health resources for young people and families.
McFadden’s Movement expanded its annual giving to include CMHA Grey Bruce in 2025, bringing a portion of the funds raised back to the area where Garrett grew up. This year’s $20,500 donation will once again support youth mental health initiatives in Grey Bruce.
“On behalf of CMHA Grey Bruce, we extend a heartfelt thank you to McFadden’s Movement for their generous donation in support of youth mental health,” said Scott McKay, Director of Client Services at CMHA Grey Bruce. “Your kindness and commitment will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in our community. We are truly grateful for your support.”
The 10th anniversary marks another record year for McFadden’s Movement. Its 2026 fundraising surpassed the previous record set in 2025, when $36,500 was donated in support of mental health resources.
What has grown around McFadden’s Movement over the past decade is a strong community of sponsors, donors, volunteers, friends, family members, event participants and supporters who continue to believe in the importance of making conversations about mental health easier.
CMHA Grey Bruce congratulates Garrett and everyone involved with McFadden’s Movement on 10 years of impact and thanks them for continuing to invest in mental health supports for young people in Grey Bruce.
