CMHA Grey Bruce Stands Up Against Bullying on Pink Shirt Day

On February 28th, Pink Shirt Day provides a platform for spreading kindness, fostering inclusivity, and raising awareness about the impact of bullying. Originating from the CKNW Kids’ Fund, Pink Shirt Day aims to address bullying in schools, workplaces, homes, and online while supporting programs that promote healthy self-esteem in children.

At CMHA Grey Bruce, we are committed to supporting initiatives that combat bullying and promote youth mental health. Through our programs and services, we offer valuable resources to address bullying and its effects on mental well-being.

Bullying manifests in various forms, including physical aggression, verbal abuse, and subtle actions, leading to mental health challenges such as anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression. It is crucial to address these issues proactively and provide support to those affected.

For more information on anti-bullying resources, visit pinkshirtday.ca. Additionally, explore resources from the Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health on understanding and setting boundaries and finding healthy ways to deal with anger.

Additionally, check out WITS® programs and discover effective ways children can deal with conflict resolution. The four WITS strategies (Walk away, Ignore, Talk it out, and Seek help) are available to schools K-5/6/7. For middle and high school youth, look under “Programs” for Canadian Kindness Leaders and Pink Shirt Project.

Join CMHA Grey Bruce in standing against bullying and promoting a culture of kindness and respect in our community.
