CMHA Grey Bruce Recognized with Community Service Not-for-Profit Business Excellence Award

Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce is honoured to have been named the recipient of the 2026 Community Service Not-for-Profit Business Excellence Award at the Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

The awards were presented on June 4, 2026, during a celebration held at the Best Western Inn On The Bay in Owen Sound, bringing together businesses, organizations, and community leaders from across the region to recognize excellence and community impact.

The Chamber describes the Community Service Not-for-Profit Award as recognizing the outstanding achievements and transformative contributions of nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving and uplifting their communities. The award celebrates organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment, innovation, and impact in addressing critical social issues, promoting positive change, and improving quality of life for individuals and families.

“It’s an honour to receive this award, but it really belongs to the many people who make our work possible every day,” said Stephen Musehl, CEO of CMHA Grey Bruce. “Our staff, donors, community partners, and the people we support all play a part in creating a stronger, healthier Grey Bruce. We are grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply about one another.”

CMHA Grey Bruce provides a wide range of mental health, addiction, housing, crisis intervention, peer support, youth education, and recovery focused services that support thousands of individuals and families each year. Through these programs, the organization works to reduce barriers to care, strengthen community connections, and help people access the supports they need close to home.

CMHA Grey Bruce would also like to recognize the other organizations nominated in the Community Service Not-for-Profit category. Each organization plays an important role in strengthening the region and improving the lives of local residents.

“There are so many incredible non-profit organizations doing important work across our region,” added Musehl. “To be recognized alongside them is something we don’t take for granted. This award is a reminder of what can happen when people come together to support one another and work toward a common goal.”

As CMHA Grey Bruce continues to respond to the evolving needs of the community, this recognition serves as a reminder of the impact that can be achieved through collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to mental health and well-being.
