CMHA Grey Bruce Partners in New Community Outreach and Support Team (COAST)

CMHA Grey Bruce is proud to partner with Bruce County in the launch of the Community Outreach and Support Team (COAST), a new mobile team that will bring low-barrier mental health, addictions, housing, and harm reduction supports directly to communities across Bruce County.

Building on the success of Bruce County Outreach, COAST is designed to connect people with care where they are, including those living in rural communities who may face barriers to accessing services.

Funded through Health Canada’s Emergency Treatment Fund, the multidisciplinary team includes a Harm Reduction Counsellor and Peer Worker from CMHA Grey Bruce, alongside a Community Support Coordinator from Bruce County Human Services and a Community Paramedic from Bruce County Paramedic Services.

COAST will:

• Provide mental health, addictions, and housing support through mobile outreach.
• Track local drug poisonings and provide targeted interventions with community partners.
• Host pop-up outreach events across Bruce County.
• Connect with people experiencing housing instability.
• Increase awareness of harm reduction and available community supports.

COAST is now serving communities across Bruce County and will operate until March 31, 2027.
