Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce Welcomes Stephen Musehl as New CEO

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Grey Bruce is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Musehl as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 15, 2024.

Following a thorough search process, the CMHA Grey Bruce Board of Directors and the CEO Recruitment Committee selected Musehl for the role. He will be transitioning into his position with the support of Claudia den Boer, the current Interim CEO, who will aid in the transition for a brief period. Stephen Musehl, who resides in Chesley, has a solid background in leadership within the health and community service sectors. He has served as Executive Director at Home and Community Support Services Grey Bruce and at the local Alzheimer Society.

Musehl is recognized for his effective leadership, excelling in finance, people management, and program development. He has led strategic initiatives and expanded programs through innovative funding. Musehl also actively participates in working groups and co-chairs the Grey Bruce Ontario Health Team.

Regarding his new role, Stephen Musehl stated, “I am truly honoured to join CMHA Grey Bruce as CEO. I look forward to working alongside the exceptional team already in place to cultivate hope, resilience, and community for those who live with and are impacted by mental illness and/or addiction. CMHA Grey Bruce is a leader in our communities, and I hope to continue – and grow – the exceptional legacy of this organization.”

Musehl’s qualifications include an Honours BA in Health Psychology from York University, a Master’s Certificate in Healthcare Management from the Schulich School of Business, and certification from the Canadian College of Health Leaders.

The CMHA Grey Bruce Board and the CEO Recruitment Committee also wish to thank Claudia den Boer for her leadership as Interim CEO, during which she significantly contributed to the agency’s development.
