This team provides mental health-related information and education to individuals and groups. It produces brochures, offers workshops and presentations, and hosts a website and a comprehensive mental health resource library that is open to the public.
The resource library includes books and audio visual materials on such topics as: Addictions, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, Suicide, Mindfulness, Pain Management, Self-Help and Family Support.
Individuals are welcome to drop in and visit our library Monday to Friday from 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.
Individuals may also call or drop in to receive general information about mental health or register for upcoming community presentations or workshops.
A variety of community workshops are offered including “Introduction to Mental Illness” and “Understanding Mental Illness”. Within these presentations, the following topics can be addressed: Anxiety; Depression; Schizophrenia; Personality Disorders; Hoarding; Stress and Mental Health; Aging and Mental Health; Preserving and Enhancing Memory; Exercise and Mental Health; Resilience; Suicide and Grief; Healthy Relationships; Communicating with Someone who has a Mental Illness and Compassion Fatigue. Topics can be arranged by request.
